Vitamin D
Vitamin D is the key to the synthesization of calcium, both nutrients are essential for bone health. Vitamin D is also utilized by approximately 1000 different genes; therefore it is responsible for the optimal health of various physiological systems like cardiovascular, pulmonary and immune. People suffering with a Vitamin D deficiency generally show symptoms of depression, chronic pain and muscle weakness. New Yorker’s with low Vitamin D levels are generally diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder S.A.D. Ayurveda 101 course
This course will serve to introduction Ayurveda to the general public. The class will be dedicated to teaching the basic concepts of the Ayurvedic holistic health system. The course will provide students with information about their own constitution also known as one's dosha. Included is a comprehensive handout of Ayurvedic resources in New York City. Special focus is given to applying the principals of the system in order to live a healthy and Ayurvedically balanced life. Ayurveda is an ancient science that provides modern insight.
